About Zoe

Zoe sees herself as a graphic designer who has always illustrated on the side. She’s collaborated with both editors and clients to create memorable, award-winning pieces, often art directing illustrators or contributing her own illustrations to projects. As a child, she spent countless hours with Richard Scarry, Laurent de Brunhoff, Shel Silverstein, Judith Viorst, Judy Blume, and Toni Ungerer, to name just a few (wink). When her son was born, she couldn’t wait to share her favorites and discover new ones together. This love of children's books, coupled with her design experience, moved her to begin creating stories of her own as an author-illustrator. Zoe finds inspiration in science and art museums, the imaginative and hilarious chatter of those who still have baby teeth, and the Grand Rounds in Minneapolis, where you can often find her wandering with her husband, Kyle, and their entertaining dog, Tilly. She is a proud member of SCBWI Minnesota, The Loft Literary Center, and AIGA Minnesota.
